We Need Volunteers!

Join us at Illinois Prairie and lend a hand.

Camp Fire Illinois Prairie is proudly run entirely by volunteers. Every hike, craft, campfire, and learning opportunity is made possible through the time and dedication of caring community members. To provide children with the best programming, we depend on many kinds of volunteers—group leaders, event organizers, behind-the-scenes planners, parent helpers, and supporters who share their unique talents. It truly takes a village, and every contribution, big or small, helps create meaningful experiences and lasting memories for our kids.

  • Traditional Club

A traditional club volunteer leads children in fun, age-appropriate activities like games, crafts, and nature exploration. They create a safe, welcoming space while helping kids build friendships, confidence, and teamwork.

  • Camp Prairie Oaks

Volunteering at Camp Prairie Oaks means helping create memorable outdoor adventures for kids—whether leading activities, lending a hand with events, or supporting behind the scenes, every role makes a difference.

  • The Board

Serving on the Camp Fire Illinois Prairie board means guiding our mission, supporting volunteers, securing donations and funding, and helping shape the programs that give children meaningful experiences.
